Nevada veteran and tech founder applauds Senator Jacky Rosen’s request for a Veteran Business Outreach Center
Lulius Innovation founder Rich Ferguson says veterans need more bridges into business
January 20, 2023 – (RENO, Nev.) – US Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Small Business Committee, sent a letter this week encouraging the US Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish a Veteran Business Outreach Center (VBOC) in Nevada. The move is supported by local veterans, including Rich Ferguson founder and CTO of Lulius Innovation, a Nevada-based company that develops software for use in military settings.
“From experience I know VBOCs are critical to communities like ours with large numbers of veterans, especially those who are transitioning out of the military,” said Ferguson. “Senator Rosen is a stalwart advocate for veterans and small businesses and this move exemplifies her commitment. Nevada’s veterans and their families will benefit for generations from VBOCs and support in growing their businesses.”
In part, Senator Rosen’s letter read: “I write today to strongly encourage the Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish a Veteran Business Outreach Center (VBOC) in Nevada,” wrote Senator Rosen. “Nearly ten percent of Nevadans are veterans, who have served our country proudly and deserve access to the resources and support needed to become small business owners. However, despite the fact that Nevada is home to thousands of servicemembers and nearly 250,000 veterans, there is not currently a VBOC in Nevada.”
Lulius is among 23,500 veteran-owned companies in the state of Nevada. Lulius says it is grateful for the opportunity to serve US Armed Forces with cutting-edge and cost-saving IT solutions for the modern aviator. Learn more about the company’s exciting work at https://www.luli.us/.
